MUWRP routinely reviews and conducts in-depth analyses of its PEPFAR-funded programs, which allows PEPFAR leadership to determine the impact of their initiatives on participants and communities and determine areas of need.
Demonstration studies allow for the review of pilot programs to determine whether they merit wider implementation. In addition to AFRICOS, MUWRP is conducting these PEPFAR funded studies:
• FISHER FOLK Protocol: This study will evaluate a novel design to improve access and retention rates among the fishing communities of Koome Islands.
• MENTOR MOTHER Protocol: This study will compare costs and mother-baby retention rates of different PMTCT strategies.
• PreP demonstration project: The study will evaluate feasibility, acceptability and adherence to PreP use among adolescent and young women at high risk for HIV
